Heeno International (HI)'s Board of Directors consists of the following persons. Board Members are unified in their commitment to HI's mission and objectives and do not receive any direct or indirect remuneration or reward for their services.

Dr.Karamo NM Sonko

Chairman of the Board & Founder

Dr KARAMO NM SONKO is: 1) Chief Strategist for Africa, Orca Gold Inc. (Vancouver, Canada); and 2) President and CEO of Jula Consultancy FZE (Sharjah, UAE).

He was: 1) Executive Vice President of Sand Metals (Vancouver, Canada); 2) Vice President and Deputy Director-General of Tasiast Mauritania Ltd., a subsidiary of Red Back Mining Inc. He has written and published extensively on Africa in the form of co-authoured books, papers in academic journals and articles in international magazines. Dr Sonko is a recipient of the 201.... Research awards of the IRTI of the Islamic Development Bank (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia).

He has: 1) B.A. (First Class) in Public Administration and Sociology from the University of Swaziland; 2) Master of Philosophy in Development Economics and Politics from the University of Cambridge, UK; and 3) Ph.D (with Distinction) in international economics & development from the Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, CO, USA.

Demba H. Bah

Director

Mr Demba H. Bah is a Sales Consultant in the US retail industry. He has a Higher Diploma in Business Management from the Pan African Institute for Development (Cameroon) and has successfully completed other training courses in institutions of higher education in Italy and the USA. He has over twenty-eight years of experience in marketing, accounting and management in The Gambia and USA.

Lamin Jobarteh

Director

Mr Lamin Jobarteh is a former branch manager and Assistant Vice President of Wells Fargo Bank in Anchorage, Alaska. He is President of the Islamic Association of Alaska, which has raised more than $3 million to build the first mosque in Alaska. He is a model for promoting peaceful coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims in the state. Mr Jobarteh is the founder of the first halal grocery in the state of Alaska. He has a B.Sc. in Business Management from Rust College (Holly Springs, Mississippi) and an MBA in Business Management from Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage.

Ansumana Sanyang

Director

Mr Sanyang has 28 years' experience in communal development and engagement in rural Gambia. He was the supervisor of all Heeno's projects prior to 2000. He is now in retirement but volunteers as the principal advisor to the Chairman of HI.

Sophia Shane

Special Volunteer and Website Manager (Canada)

Ms Sophia Shane has voluntarily served as website manager and has been a keen supporter of HI since its establishment in 2011. Ms Shane presently occupies the position of Lundin Group Communications as well as Investor Relations for Africa Oil Corp., Africa Energy Corp., International Petroleum Corp. as well as Denison Mines Corp. Ms Shane is on the board of two publicly traded companies, Highbury Projects, Inc. and Twyford Ventures, Inc. She is a Member of the Canadian Investor Relations Institute and a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute.
