HI has set up the HI Orphans' Support Network in both The Gambia and Mauritania. In Mauritania it signed an agreement in December 2010 with a local NGO, ONG Besma wal Emel, to assist orphans. Ten orphans and their families benefit from monthly welfare grants (education and health) for 6 months.. A further 15 orphans are sponsored by the Lundin Foundation (LFA), based on HI's advice.
