He has written and published extensively on Africa in the form of co-authoured books, papers in academic journals and articles in international magazines. Dr Sonko is a recipient of the 201.... Research awards of the IRTI of the Islamic Development Bank (Jeddah, Saudi Arabia).
He has: 1) B.A. (First Class) in Public Administration and Sociology from the University of Swaziland; 2) Master of Philosophy in Development Economics and Politics from the University of Cambridge, UK; and 3) Ph.D (with Distinction) in international economics & development from the Korbel School of International Studies, University of Denver, CO, USA.
